Journalist Elchin Mamed released after questioning in Azerbaijan

Police has questioned Elchin Mamed, the Chairman of the NGO "Legal Education of Sumgait Youth" and the editor-in-chief of the on-line edition "Yukselish Namine" (In the Name of Revival) in connection with the case on non-return loan of ‘International Bank of Azerbaijan’.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this morning, Elchin Mamed has been detained at the Baku airport after his arrival from Brussels.

At about 5.00 p.m Mamed was released. This was told to the ‘Caucasian Knot’ correspondent by Elchin Mamed himself.  According to Mamed, since November 2014, he has been summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department of major crimes of the General Prosecutor Office several times already.
