Kadyrov drops in rating of "governors' survivability"
Veniamin Kondratiev, the Acting Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, is the only leader of Southern Russia marked as "Excellent" in the rating of "survivability", compiled on the basis of experts' estimates by the "Petersburg Politics" Foundation and the "Minchenko Consulting" Holding. According to the rating, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov is loosing his position in the rating.
The results of the 15th rating of governors' "survivability" have been posted today on the website of the "Petersburg Politics".
The rating started in 2007. Every six months, the above authors are surveying the leading Russian experts in the sphere of regional policy asking them about the probability – in points from one (lowest score) to five (highest score) – for this or that head of the region to survive in his post in the near future.
The high score of the above Veniamin Kondratiev, who has scored "five with a minus", was caused, according to experts, by his recent appointment and support by power agents and the former head of the region Alexander Tkachov.
A number of heads of regions of Southern Russia received four points each, among them, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, whose rating was "five with a minus" six months ago and a "solid five" – a year ago. Expert treat Kadyrov's strength in his federal support and his grip over the situation in the region, while his weaknesses are in his gradual immersion into intra-elite conflicts and negative resonance situations, and "frictions" with heads of neighbouring republics associated with his claims for the leading position in the whole Caucasus.
