Two suspected militants' helpers detained in Chechnya

On May 27, two young men suspected of aiding and abetting members of the armed underground were detained by the police in the Nadterechny District of Chechnya. This was reported by the spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Chechnya.

"The detainees have already confessed to the fact that during two years, starting from 2012 till 2014, they rendered assistance to members of the armed underground. In particular, they prepared for the militants hidden dugouts and also stored explosives belonging to the criminal grouping," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a policeman.

According to the source, after recording their confessions, the policemen released both detained residents of the village of Gvardeiskoe on recognizance not to leave. "A corresponding investigation has been launched with respect to their confessions. The issue of opening a criminal case is under consideration," the policeman has noted.
