Protest in Yerevan ends with ultimatum to authorities
The participants of the action against the rise in electricity tariffs held in Yerevan threatened the authorities to scale up the protest should the electricity tariffs be raised.
Let us remind you that today protests against increased electricity tariffs were held in 15 cities of Armenia. The protesters handed over letters to Mayoralties of their cities demanding to "stop the rise of electricity prices."
The protest in Yerevan began with a rally in Freedom Square, where activists were holding national flags of Armenia and posters demanding to prevent electricity tariff rise.
The organizers of the rally urged Armenians not to obey to the decision on possible rise in tariffs, and should the decision be made, to switchover to acts of disobedience, up to non-payment of their electricity bills.
According to organizers, the rally was about 15,000 strong.
