Woman from Izberbash accused of trying to sell her minor child

The case of the 41-year-old resident of the Dagestani city of town Izberbash, who, according to investigators, was going to sell her 5-year-old daughter for 100,000 roubles, has been sent to the court.

As established by employees of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), on March 27, the woman turned to her friend asking to find a buyer for her child. This became known to law enforcers.

"On March 29, 2015, following the transaction with a conditional buyer, law enforcers detained the woman. Investigators have gathered the sufficient evidence; therefore, the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to the court for consideration on the merits," the website of the ICRF has stated today.

The woman is accused of committing an offense under point "b", Part 2, Article 127.1 of the Russian Criminal Code (purchase or sale of a minor). Should her guilt be confirmed, she may be imprisoned for up to 6 years.
