Dagestan resident accused of aiding militants

The case of the resident of Makhachkala named Alkhasov has been sent to the court today. He is accused of helping members of the armed underground and keeping weapons and explosives.

According to investigators, in August 2012, A. Alkhasov helped Makhachkala militants by delivering money and sports footwear to one of them.

Besides, at militants' request, Alkhasov, according to investigators, hid in the territory of the hospital in Buganov Street ammunition and an improvised explosive device (IED). He also kept 10 rounds, three grenade launcher shots and stuff for detonation, says a statement posted on the website of the Dagestani Prosecutor's Office.

According to the statement, the defendant is now in custody; and his case will be considered by the Kirov District Court of Makhachkala.
