Participant of shootout in Gyumri detained
Garnik Gukasyan, who was on the wanted list, has been detained on suspicion of involvement in a shootout in Gyumri; and the inquiry period of the case has been extended, said a lawyer involved in the case.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the above shootout that resulted in six victims broke out in Gyumri at night on March 8; later one of them died in hospital. Five persons were detained; and one more came and surrendered to the police himself.
The detention of Garnik Gukasyan was reported by the lawyer Tamara Yayloyan, who is defending two other figurants - Gamlet Gevorkyan and Ovik Tonoyan. According to her story, not all the appointed examinations under the case have been completed, the "News.am" reports.
In April, both Yayloyan's clients were released from custody. In case of Tonoyan, the decision was made by the Court of Appeal, while Gevorkyan was released by the Prosecutor's Office. Besides, another defendant, David Akopyan, was released by the court on bail, the "Aravot" writes.
