Jury votes for death sentence to Tsarnaev

In the United States, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, accused of committing the terror act in Boston, has been sentenced to death by the jury.

According to investigators, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, a native of Chechnya, and his brother Tamerlan, who was killed during the detention, organized the terror act during the Boston Marathon in 2013. On April 8, the jury found Dzhokhar Tsarnaev guilty of all 30 charges filed against him.

The jury's decision was affected by a number of aggravating factors, which they found to be proved, said Fatima Tlisova, a journalist of the "Voice of America", who is covering the trial from the courtroom on the Twitter.

"The verdict: based on the aggravating and mitigating circumstances, we decided unanimously that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is sentenced to death," the reporter quotes the jury's verdict.

The discussion of the sentence behind closed doors lasted for about 15 hours, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
