Citizen of Belarus freed from slavery in Dagestan

Employees of the Drug Control Service for Dagestan have rescued citizen of Belarus from his two-year-long labour captivity.

The Department for Dagestan of the Russian Federal Service for Drug Control (known as UFSKN) received operative information that near the village of Shava, Babayurt District, they cultivate narcotic plants. During the inspection of the territory and premises, drug policemen were met and accompanied by a young man named Dmitry. As it turned out, he was a native and citizen of Belarus, who had been held, against his will, at the farm, where he carried out all the work. Over the past two years, Dmitry had lived in the field, away from the people, some 15 kilometres away from the nearest dwelling settlement.

According to his story, Dmitry went to search for work in Russia. In Moscow, he met "some Dagestani", who offered him a job in Makhachkala. The new friend invited the guy to a café, where, after eating some soup, Dmitry fell asleep and woke up in a bus Moscow-Makhachkala. In his words, there was no chance to escape.

In Dagestan, the young man was taken to the mountains, where he worked in a quarry. Unable to withstand the heavy load, Dmitry escaped with the help of one of the locals, who drove him to the farm, where the citizen of Belarus was found by drug policemen.
