Resident of Khasavyurt sentenced for aiding and abetting militants

The Khasavyurt City Court has sentenced a local resident to 2.5 years of imprisonment on charges of aiding and abetting illegal armed formations (IAFs) and arms trafficking.

The Court has found out that in the period from October 2013 to March 2014, in Khasavyurt, defendant Idrisov was providing assistance to members of illegal armed formations (IAFs). In particular, he acquired for them food and a vehicle and fulfilled various orders of IAF members.

Besides, the Court has revealed that the defendant illegally acquired and stored at his house five magazines to a Saiga MK carbine, the website of the Dagestani Prosecutor's Office reported on May 12.

According to the verdict, the defendant will serve his sentence in a common-security penal colony, the Dagestani Prosecutor's Office reports.
