Residents of Sochi district organize concert under windows of war veterans' house

In Sochi, in the residential district of "Maly Akhun", local residents organized their own events dedicated to the Victory Day, including a concert under the windows of the house with several war veterans, who for health reasons could not take part in the celebrations.

"A lot of war veterans were unable to attend the city events because of their age. So, it was important to ensure that they would be able to take part in the celebrations by the invitation from residents of 'Maly Akhun'," said Igor Vasiliev, the leader of the local branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF).

According to Yuri Vasilenko, the head of the house committee of the apartment house No. 16 in Maly Akhun Street, the local residents organized the concert right under the windows of the house to ensure that the war veterans, who could not participate in the celebrations, were able to hear the concert.

"All the residents of the district have decided to gather on the playground near our house. Our children have prepared a celebratory concert: they read poems, sang songs, and danced to the music of the war years," Yuri Vasilenko has said.
