"Alforat": Umar al-Shishani killed in Iraq

Tarkhan Batirashvili, also known as Umar al-Shishani, a field commander of the "Islamic State", which was declared a terrorist organization, was killed in Iraq. This has been reported today by the news agency "Alforat".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since 2013 Tarkhan Batirashvili, a native of Georgia, also known as Omar Shishani (Omar Chechen), has been commanding a group of Islamists in the IS (formerly – the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant – ISIL), waging war in the northern sector of Syria. The death of Shishani has been declared for at least five times; in particular, his murder was reported by the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, but then these reports were refuted.

The field commander of the "Islamic State", known under the names of Tarkhan Batirashvili and Umar al-Shishani, has been killed in the course of the operation carried out by the Iraqi army in the territory of the northern province of Saladin, "Alforat" reports today.

According to the message posted on the website of the news agency "Alforat", about 10 other militants of the "Islamic State" were killed together with Umar al-Shishani.

There is no official confirmation of the information about the death of Umar al-Shishani. The websites that support militants of Northern Caucasus also contain no information about the murder of Umar al-Shishani.

Today, the Iranian Press-TV Channel has also reported on the murder of Umar al-Shishani "The Iraqi security forces have managed to eliminate one of the senior commanders of the terrorist grouping 'Islamic State' (IS). He was killed during an operation to clean up one of the districts of the province of Saladin," the "TASS" quotes the Iranian  Press TV Channel as reporting.
