Three persons hospitalized after shootout in Makhachkala
During the shootout in Makhachkala, three persons were injured and hospitalized. One of the wounded men is a brother of a policeman killed in the shootout.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 1, a conflict occurred in one of the restaurants of Makhachkala, which resulted in a shootout in the street. According to local department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), four persons, including a policeman, got fatal wounds.
All three victims were brought to the city hospital for medical treatment, the RIA "Dagestan" reports with reference to Rasul Temirbekov, a staff member of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
According to sources in the law enforcement bodies, the shootout killed Shamil Taavov, the chief of the Levashi interdistrict registration and examination department of the road police (known as GIBDD), his deputy Rasul, and relative Omar. Some persons were wounded, including Gadjimurad, a brother of Shamil Taavov, who worked as a driver-bodyguard of the Chief of the Makhachkala UVD (City Interior Department), Musalav Omarov, the chief of the auditing and revision department of the Pension Fund of Dagestan, and an unidentified young woman, the "LifeNews" reports.
Till present, no information on the identification of the fourth killed person has been reported.
