In Rostov-on-Don, case of patient's death near walls of hospital brought to court
Tatiana Kornaeva, a physician of the hospital No. 8 of Rostov-on-Don, is accused of failure to provide medical assistance to Vyacheslav Ivanov, an elderly patient, who died not far from the hospital. The case has been brought to court.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported on March 15, a man in a wheelchair died near walls of a hospital in Rostov-on-Don. On March 17, YouTube posted a record from a surveillance camera of the hospital, which showed how health professionals took a patient in a wheelchair outside the hospital and left on the street, where he died.
According to investigators, at 6:00 p.m. of March 14, an ambulance brought to the city hospital No. 8 of Rostov-on-Don a patient with a diagnosis of "general hypothermia". After checking the patient, Tatiana Kornaeva, a physician on duty, sent him to a tuberculosis hospital for examination; however, there, doctors refused to accept the patient and sent him back. However, according to investigators, Tatiana Kornaeva failed to provide medical assistance to the patient without any valid reason and failed to hospitalize him.
"Besides, she instructed her subordinates to take the patient outside the hospital and leave him on the street, where he died from chronic ischemic heart disease," reported the website of the Rostov Regional Prosecutor's Office on April 30.
Tatiana Kornaeva is charged with failure to provide medical assistance to a patient (Part 2 of Article 124 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the Prosecutor's Office reports.
