Dagestani resident claims investigators' inaction in case against police
Arslan Khairullin, a resident of Dagestan, has filed a complaint about inaction of investigators. He complains to the Prosecutor's Office about being beating by policemen and unlawful prosecution.
According to 19-year-old Arslan Khairullin, on February 10, 2015, he was stopped by policemen at the intersection of Gagarin and Kirov Streets in Makhachkala.
"I was forced into a white Lada Priora car. They seized my mobile phone and bag. I was brought to an apartment, where they started to beat me and threaten that they would use firearm and wound me in my leg," Arslan Khairullin has stated.
According to the resident of Dagestan, then, the policemen handed him a banknote covered by gray-green substance and forced him to sign a confession to drug possession.
Then, according to Arslan Khairullin, he was brought to the Soviet ROVD (District Interior Division). There, he spent about a day, and then he was released.
Arslan Khairullin has filed complaints about the actions of the policemen to various authorities, including the City Prosecutor's Office and the FSB. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" by Elena Denisenko, an advocate, representing the interests of the man suspected of drug possession. According to the advocate, till present, no decision has been made on the complaints filed.
