Sochi investigators interrogate "EcoWatch" activist Vladimir Kimaev

The interrogation of Vladimir Kimaev, which was held on April 24, lasted about two hours. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Alexander Popkov, an advocate of the activist. The activist is suspected of inciting hatred against the police in his articles published in 2013.

The claim against Vladimir Kimaev was filed by FSB agents, who sent the materials to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for inspection.

"The investigator has told us that they have even prepared a philological examination. However, she refused to show it to us. We have not been explained what the results of the examination showed, who was invited as an expert, and what material was subjected to the examination. That is, we are not aware of what words, expressions, and context Vladimir Kimaev is accused. Meanwhile, we know that they took as a basis the four articles published on the Vladimir Kimaev's website 'MirSochi'," Alexander Popkov has said.

According to him, those articles mention the cases when policemen beat builders of the Olympic venues and other cases of violation of the law committed by the police. "Perhaps, those articles use rigid words to criticize the police's actions. However, I believe those articles contain no calls to hate all the policemen," the advocate has noted.
