Arrest of Shagid Gubashev extended until August 28
The Basmanny District Court of Moscow has left in custody Shagid Gubashev, one of the defendants in the case of the Boris Nemtsov's murder, until August 28.
"Being at liberty, Shagid Gubashev can prevent the discovery of all the facts and circumstances of the case, put pressure on witnesses and other persons involved in the proceedings, whose testimonies can incriminate him. The circumstances of the charges filed make it impossible to change or mitigate pre-trial restriction measure against Shagid Gubashev," an investigator has argued.
Shagid Gubashev disagreed with the decision and asked to mitigate the pre-trial restriction measure. "I did not commit the crime," he has said.
"The case materials contain no testimony or information pointing to the guilt or incriminating Shagid Gubashev, and therefore, I treat the investigator's arguments as unfounded," said Ilya Trofimov, an advocate of Shagid Gubashev.
