Court leaves Khamzat Bakhaev in custody until August 28

At the request of investigators, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow has extended the arrest of Khamzat Bakhaev, a defendant in the case of the murder of Boris Nemtsov, for four months, until August 28.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 18, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow scheduled for April 22 the consideration of the extension of the arrest of Anzor Gubashev and Khamzat Bakhaev, accused of involvement in the murder of politician Boris Nemtsov. Today, the Court has extended the arrest of Anzor Gubashev for four months.

Judge Natalia Dudar has granted the motion of the investigators, who asked to leave Khamzat Bakhaev at the SIZO (pre-trial prison) for a period of preliminary investigation, which was in total extended up to six months.

Investigator Aseev has justified his demand to extend the arrest of Khamzat Bakhaev by the fact that the grounds for the defendant's detention have not changed.

Advocate Zaurbek Sadakhanov has called the evidence of the Khamzat Bakhaev's guilt as "unfounded."
