Alexander Valov announces his intention to challenge FSB resolution on fine
Alexander Valov, an editor-in-chief of the "BlogSochi", has claimed he doesn’t agree with the decision of the FSB Border Guard Service, which imposed on him a fine for violation of the border regime. According to Alexander Valov, he does not consider himself guilty.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 11, Alexander Valov was brought to a base of the Russian FSB Border Guard Service on suspicion of violating the border regime. Alexander Valov was fined 1,000 roubles.
Alexander Valov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on April 11, the day of his detention, he arrived in the village of "Vesoloye-Psou" to make a photo reportage essay on abeyant and dilapidated houses built for the Olympic settlers. The FSB agents, who detained Alexander Valov, motivated their actions by the fact that by entering the village, Alexander Valov had violated the border regime.
Advocate Alexander Popkov has expressed his desire to help Alexander Valov in preparation of a complaint about the resolution on the fine.
"The incident that occurred to Alexander Valov is a case of lawlessness. A person can violate the border zone regime only in case if such a regime is in force. And we see no such a regime in force in Khudyakov Street," Alexander Popkov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
