"Kommersant": Khamzat Bakhaev's defence presents his alibi in case of Boris Nemtsov's murder

A girlfriend of Khamzat Bakhaev, a defendant in the case in the murder of politician Boris Nemtsov, has said that during the period of time when the crime was committed and during the following two days, the Ingush native was with her in the apartment.

Khamzat Bakhaev is accused of complicity in the murder committed by an organized grouping by order. According to investigators, he promised suspected perpetrators of the crime to provide them with some information and help them escape.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 9, the defence of Khamzat Bakhaev submitted to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) the evidence proving non-involvement of the client in the crime, since his girlfriend had provided him an alibi. According to her testimony, during the murder of Boris Nemtsov and two days after it, she and Khamzat Bakhaev were in a Moscow apartment, and thus, he could not hide in a Moscow suburban house of one of the suspected killers, the "Kommersant" reports.

According to advocate Zaurbek Sadakhanov, according to Khamzat Bakhaev, Khamzat Bakhaev and his girlfriend spent in the apartment the next two days and left it only to visit a grocery store and to dispose of the garbage.

The advocate has filed a motion to request a list of billing connections for his client's mobile phone. According to the advocate, it is to show that in the period of February 27-March 1, the Khamzat Bakhaev's mobile phone was permanently in the area of the "Kuntsevskaya" metro station and not in the Odintsovo District of the Moscow Region. The defender has also asked the investigators to examine the video surveillance cameras installed at the "Kuntsevskaya" metro station, which, according to him, were to record how Khamzat Bakhaev met his girlfriend.
