Shakhban Gasanov killed in special operation in Khasavyurt

Shakhban Gasanov, who had sworn to the "Islamic State" (IS), recognized as a terrorist organization, was killed during the storming of a house in Khasavyurt, said the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

Today, in the course of a special operation, a house in Datuev Street was blocked. During negotiations, the people who hid in the house, released the woman, but, according to power agents, refused to go out; and power agents then stormed the house. According to the NAC, the flat, where the armed people tried to hide, belonged to Shakhban Gasanov, the leader of the "Kizlyar" militant grouping.

According to the NAC, Shakhban Gasanov intended "to intensify the terrorist activities in Northern Caucasus."

"Shakhban Gasanov, who rendered armed resistance, was neutralized. Firearm and ammunition were found in the flat. There were no civilian victims and no losses among law enforcers," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the NAC's statement.
