Armenian and Russian MPs call on colleagues in other countries to condemn Armenian Genocide

In their joint appeal to MPs of other countries, Armenian and Russian MPs called on to recognize and condemn the genocide of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the year of 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1923. At present, more than 20 states have recognized the Armenian Genocide.

In their joint appeal, the MPs called on the "parliaments of Western countries to explore the irrefutable evidence of crimes against humanity to recognize and condemn them."

The joint appeal has been issued following the joint meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Armenia for External Relations and the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a member of the press service of the Armenian Parliament on March 28.
