Experts evidence to court in Adygea on agro holding's suit to ecologist Brinikh

At the trial on the lawsuit, lodged by the Agricultural Holding "Kiev-Zhuraki APC" against the ecologist Valery Brinikh on protection of honour and business reputation, the Maikop City Court listened to testimonies of the former ecologist of the company and a linguist. Brinikh's advocate stated a violation by the court of the right to defence and the adversarial nature of the trial.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 17, 2014, the Maikop City Court found the article by Valery Brinikh "Lambs' Silence", posted on the website "ZaKrasnodar!" to be extremist. The article covered the problem of pollution of the environmental as a result of the operation of the swine-breeding complex belonging to the above Holding. The ecologist seeks to cancel the above court judgement, and submitted an appeal to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Adygea. On March 20, the Supreme Court upheld the decision of the City Court and reconfirmed that the "Lambs' Silence" was an extremist article.

At the court session on March 24, the court granted the petition of the defence to complement the case files with the decision of the Arbitration Court on the lawsuit of the same Holding in 2013 against Brinikh, where the court ruled in favour of the ecologist.

The lawyer Lyudmila Alexandrova, who is defending Brinikh, has stated the pressure exerted by the court, and violation of parties' equality in the judicial process and fair competition.

According to her story, the defence tried to challenge the court, but the motion was rejected under the argument that the challenge motion should have been submitted in writing.

The advocate has also announced her intention to file complaints against the judge to the Qualification Board of Judges of Adygea, and to the Supreme Qualification Board.
