Defender of Zaur Dadaev denies his client's rejection of confession in Boris Nemtsov's case

Zaur Dadaev, a defendant in the case of the murder of politician Boris Nemtsov, has not rejected confession, since he had not been re-interrogated yet. This was reported by Ivan Gerasimov, an advocate of the defendant. At present, the defence checks possible alibi of Zaur Dadaev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Zaur Dadaev was charged with the murder of Boris Nemtsov. On March 8, at the court session to elect pre-trial restriction measure, the judge stated with reference to the materials of the investigation that the Zaur Dadaev's involvement in the murder was "confirmed by his confession." However, he himself pleaded not guilty in court.

"Zaur Dadaev did not reject the confession given to investigators. It is too early to speak about that, since we have not yet been interrogated; we testified only as a suspect and as a defendant yet on March 8," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Ivan Gerasimov, the advocate of Zaur Dadaev, as stating.

Zaur Dadaev used to serve in the unit "Sever" (North) of the Interior Troops of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Chechnya, and he was fired on the next day after the murder of Boris Nemtsov. He was detained on March 5.

Politician Boris Nemtsov, a native of Sochi, was killed in the centre of Moscow on February 27. According to the official information, in the case of his murder, five persons are being kept in custody, including Zaur Dadaev, Anzor Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, and Shagid Gubashev.
