Relatives of disappeared Dagestani resident cannot find him for about one month

Ali Magomedov, a 57-year-old resident of Makhachkala, who worked as a forest officer in the forest near the village of Shushanovka of the Kizilyurt District, disappeared nearly a month ago, and his whereabouts are still unknown. This was reported by one of the relatives of the disappeared man.

According to his relatives, Ali Magomedov worked as a forest officer for several years. "On February 26, he went to the forest for inspection and never came back. When he did not appear in the evening, we went to search for him. Near the river in the forest, we found his pocket with the documents. It used to be always tightly fastened on the inside of Ali's clothes, and it could not fall out," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Magomed, a relative of the disappeared man.

According to him, the relatives were combing the forest during several days and then appealed to the Kizilyurt ROVD (District Interior Division). The relatives of Ali Magomedov suggest that he could be detained by law enforcers.

"When we were searching for Ali, we got the information that several days before his disappearance, policemen questioned locals about Ali and said that they had a suspicion that Ali brought food products and provided other assistance to members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) hiding in the woods," Magomed has said. He has also added that such assumptions are false, since his disappeared relative was "far from extremist movements and could not help them, because he lived very modestly."

Officials from the on duty unit of the Kizilyurt ROVD have reported that Ali Magomedov was not detained.
