"EcoWatch" demands to check legality of fencing off lake shore in Krasnodar
The "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch) has forwarded applications to the prosecutor's office of the Karasun District and the administration of Krasnodar, asking them to check the legality of fencing off a shore section of Lake Karasun.
Activists of the "EcoWatch" have checked a complaint of residents of the settlement of Pashkovskiy in Krasnodar, who reported that a shore section of one of Lakes Karasun, which had been used by residents for recreation, had been fenced off; and the access to the beach was blocked.
According to the public cadastral map, one of the land plots inside the fenced-off area was allocated for high-rise build-up.
According to Andrei Rudomakha, the coordinator of the "EcoWatch", in March, they started works inside the fenced-off area: they completely cut down the greenery and began preparations for the construction.
Activists of the "EcoWatch" claim that they will seek the demolition of the illegal fence, the "Yugopolis" reports.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported about the problems of Lakes Karasun in Krasnodar. Over the past 10 years, according to local environmentalists, the green area along the north shore of the chain of lakes has been completely or partially liquidated.
