Two men detained in Elin-Yurt after dam explosion at reservoir, local reports
Two residents of the village of Elin-Yurt (Gvardeiskoe) were detained in Chechnya after the explosion at the dam of the Chernorechensk Reservoir. The whereabouts of the detainees is unknown, said a local resident.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on February 24, in the village of Chernorechye, an explosion occurred on the dam of the Chernorechensk Reservoir. According to local residents, the blast killed three people; and after the incident, power agents began conducting checks and house-by-house inspections.
On March 2, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about the detentions by a local resident. "My close relative Aslambek Dadaev was detained on February 24 and released on the following day. After some time, he was detained again; and his whereabouts is still unknown," said the source on the condition of anonymity.
According to his story, he fears that power agents "may fabricate a criminal case against Aslambek Dadaev."
He asserts that power agents have also detained Apti Chermoev, a brother of Dokka Chermoev, who was killed by the explosion on the dam.
There was no official confirmation of this information. The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" is verifying the information about detentions of residents of Chechnya after the explosion on the dam of the Chernorechensk Reservoir.
