One more Gyumri protester charged with disorderly conduct

The Investigating Department of the Shirak Region has charged 26-year-old Anushavan Arutyunyan with disorderly conduct within the case of the riots in the town of Gyumri.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on January 12, the Avetisyan family was attacked in Gyumri, and as a result, seven people were killed. Valery Permyakov, a regular soldier from Russia, was arrested. On January 14 and 15, residents of Gyumri and Yerevan held two protest actions, during which clashes occurred between the  protesters and the police. On February 12, Mnatsakan Aleksanyan, one of the participants of the protest action, was charged with disorderly conduct.

"The pre-trial restriction measure was chosen in the form of recognizance not to leave," said Anushavan Arutyunyan himself. He has noted that the charge is filed based on a video made on January 15. However, according to the suspect, the video proves nothing unlawful in his actions.

"Depending on the situation, I will decide whether I should hire an advocate or not," Anushavan Arutyunyan has said.
