Relatives of Avetisyan family demand to extradite Valery Permyakov to Armenian party

Today, relatives of the Avetisyan family shot dead in Gyumri at night on January 12 have voiced their demand to extradite Russian soldier Valery Permyakov to the Armenian party.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 23, the relatives of the Avetisyan family occupied the office of Raffi Aslanyan, the Prosecutor of the Shirak Region. They demanded arranging a meeting or telephone conversation with the General Prosecutor of Armenia. After they left the Prosecutor's office, the relatives of the Avetisyan family threatened to continue holding protests in case if Gevorg Kostanyan, the General Prosecutor of Armenia, failed to meet them.

The relatives of the Avetisyan family have complained about the lack of the information about the progress of the investigation into the case. According to them, the information isolation "casts doubt on the honest investigation of the murder."

According to Egor Adamyan, the husband of Lusine Avetisyan, the relatives received from the investigative services the results of only two examinations.

Levon Barsegyan, the leader of the Gyumri Press Club "Asparez", has stated that the successors of the Avetisyan family have every right to demand information about the progress of the investigation. He believes that the Armenian party had every opportunity to take Valery Permyakov from the military base.

According to Levon Barsegyan, enough time has passed to solve the case.
