Melikov praises Chechen authorities for prompt restoration of Grozny objects destroyed during militants' attacks

Sergey Melikov, the Plenipotentiary Envoy of Russia President in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), took part in the sitting of the Council on Youth Policy in Grozny; and at the start thereof he expressed his satisfaction with the prompt restoration of the House of Press and School No. 20 after the militants' attack.

"I’d like to note the fact that in a short time you managed to rebuilt School No. 20 and the House of Press, which suffered during the terror acts on December 4, [2014]. Of course, such bandits' attack should never repeat. However, the very example of how promptly the buildings were restored suggests that the operation of the executive power in Chechnya is organized at the highest level," the News Agency "Grozny-Inform" quotes Mr Melikov as saying.

At night on December 4, 2014, militants attacked Grozny law enforcers; and the central part of the city was put under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime. As a result of armed clashes, the House of Press and School No. 20 were seriously damaged. The school building was completely restored on the eve of the New Year, on January 31. The solemn reopening of the renovated House of Press was held on December 25 last year.
