Detained PAP activists released in Yerevan

All the 19 activists detained on February 17 at the headquarters of the "Prosperous Armenia" Party (PAP) in Yerevan are back at large, said the press service of the Armenian Police.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the above activists were brought to the police station from the PAP's central office located in the Achapnyak District in Yerevan in the evening on February 17. The police explained that they received information about a brawl in the office in Alabyan   Street; therefore, they sent policemen there.

Today, Ashot Agaronyan, the press secretary of the Armenian Police, has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about the release of all the detainees.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the central office of the PAP that there was no brawl; and at the time of detention, there were women and children in the office.

Let us remind you that several PAP activists were also detained in Yerevan on February 16. The party issued a statement accusing the authorities of pressure, but the police reported that there were no political motives behind the detentions.
