Parpulov's custody covered by over 100 media publications
Relatives of Pyotr Parpulov, 60, a resident of Sochi, accused of treason, hope to use the resonance in the media and society to get a chance to visit him – the head of the family, whom they had not seen for about a year. His daughter had asked the Russian President Vladimir Putin to save the life of her sick father.
Yulia Parpulova, 25, the daughter of Pyotr Parpulov, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that her father was detained back in March last year. Since then, the family cannot visit him. Since the publication posted on the "Caucasian Knot", the media have issued 115 publications on the topic.
The daughter said that after the publication of the "Caucasian Knot", her advocate and herself received numerous calls from journalists. However, in her opinion, law enforcement bodies have shown no obvious reaction to the media coverage.
"Therefore I decided to address the guarantor of the Russian Constitution – the Russian President Vladimir Putin, asking him to save my father. On February 17, I sent my appeal to the website (change.org, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"), and posted a copy on social networks. I think that the President should know what is happening in his country, assess the developments and intervene in them, when a human's life is in danger," said Yulia Parpulova.
