Criminal case against Kuban Vice-Governor has to do with energy projects in Sochi, investigators assert

Investigators suspect Vadim Lukoyanov, the Vice-Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, of interfering into the investment programme of the "Kubanenergo" in Sochi.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Lukoyanov was detained on February 2; and on February 4, the court arrested him for two months on suspicion of committing crimes under Part 3, Article 33, and part 2, Article 201, of the Russian Criminal Code (abuse of office).

According to investigators, Lukoyanov had abused his powers by intervening into the investment programme of the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Kubanenergo", the "LifeNews" reports.

According to the edition, the vice-governor, who was supervising the housing and energy spheres, in mid-2011 ordered to include some works in Sochi for the sum of 50 million roubles into the investment programme of the OJSC "Kubanenergo", although originally these works had not been on the investment programme of the "Kubanenergo".

The case against Vice-Governor Lukoyanov is investigated by the FSB. After his arrest, he was placed into SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 5, which is housed in the FSB Department for the Krasnodar Territory, the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" reports.
