"Musavat" Party states violations during municipal elections in Azerbaijan

In the course of the voting at the municipal elections in Azerbaijan violations were registered, the "Musavat" Party has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 23 Azerbaijan held municipal elections; the overall voter turnout was 38.93 percent. The Central Election Commission (CEC) has declared the elections valid.

According to the "Musavat" Party, members of two precinct election commissions of the 9th Binagadi constituency expelled Djavanshir Abbasly, a journalist of the "Yeni Musavat" newspaper out of the polling station.

Besides, violations were recorded at seven precincts of the 47th Mingechevir constituency, at three precincts of the 108th Agstafa constituency, at three precincts of the 9th Binagadi constituency, as well as at precincts of the Bilasuvar and Masalli constituencies.

The party has explained that the most common violations were massive throw-ins of ballot papers by one voter, and multiple voting of same people at different polling stations, the "Contact.az" reports with reference to the release of the "Musavat" Party.
