Participants of EU-RF Civil Forum speak out in defence of "EcoWatch"

The participants of the Civil Forum "European Union-Russian Federation" have spoken against liquidation of the NGO "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 21 it became known that the Supreme Court of Adygea decided to liquidate the "EcoWatch". On November 24, its activists appealed against the decision.

The participants of the EU-RF Forum expressed their deep concern over the decision of the Supreme Court of Adygea. According to their story, such a decision "is contrary to common European legal norms," while the claims put forward by the court can be eliminated "without compulsory liquidation," the website of the "EcoWatch" wrote on December 7.

Besides, the forum members held a picket at the Russian Embassy in Estonia in support of Evgeny Vitishko, a convicted ecologist from the Krasnodar Territory. Activists from various countries kept shouting "Freedom to Vitishko!" However, nobody from the building of the diplomatic mission went out to the protesters, says the website of the Forum.
