After checks at Makhachkala mosque, no parishioners were detained
As a result of the checks of documents conducted by policemen yesterday near the Salafi mosque in Makhachkala, none of the parishioners was detained. The checks were not part of any operative measures, said a source from the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division) of the city.
On December 3 citizens reported about a check of documents near the mosque located in Ordjonikidze Street. The Imam Akhmad Anchikhsky explained that it was a usual check of motor vehicles, not related to the mosque.
"As far as I know, nobody was taken to the ROVD; policemen also checked documents of the people leaving the mosque – maybe they looked for some particular person. People got frightened, because usually such checks ended with mass detentions," Rasul M., one of the parishioners of the mosque, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
A source from the Kirov ROVD said that on December 3 no operative actions were conducted near the Salafi mosque in Makhachkala.
