Sochi court rejects request of Saveliev family to suspend demolition of their house

The Adler District Court has considered the application lodged by Saveliev family, who asked them to suspend their eviction from the barns at 5/1 Akatsij Street. The court decided to reject the appeal.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Saveliev family was evicted from the barrack, where they lived in Akatsij Street, while the house was demolished because of the construction of the M-27 highway. According to Lyudmila Savelieva, her family of five people, including two small children, has received no compensation for their ruined housing. The family adapted a barn for residence, but it was also recognized as an illegal construction.

At a session on Thursday, Nina Suprunets, the spokesman for the Sochi Administration, insisted on the demolition of the Savelievs' barn under the motive that the road to No. 5 in Akatsij Street will run across the territory of the barn.

According to Alexander Pokhodyaev, who is representing Savelievs' interests, what is occurring in the court is grossly violating the rights of the family.

He added that a court marshal wrongfully tried, by using threats of imprisonment, to serve a document to the family about the earlier imposed fine for non-fulfilment of the court ruling, which has not entered into force.
