KBR: volunteers fundraise to help Syrian refugees

On the eve of September 1, volunteers from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) gave one thousand roubles to each Syrian child from the families living in sanatoriums of Nalchik. In total, 33 children received the money. Today, the same thousand roubles was delivered to each of the families with 12 schoolchildren, who live in other villages of the republic or rent apartments in Nalchik, one of the volunteers – Olga Efendieva-Begret – told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"Refugees from Syria receive charitable help from people of the KBR, Karachay-Cherkessia, Adygea, and many other natives of Northern Caucasus, who live in various parts of the world," said Efendieva-Begret. Most of the raised funds are spent to buy medicines, support elderly repatriates, families with many children and single compatriots, the volunteer told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.
