Armenian MoD reports detention of soldier related to Vladimir Airapetyan's death

Simon Mkrtchyan, a colleague of Vladimir Airapetyan, has been detained during the investigation into the case of the death of his colleague, a regular soldier of one of the military units. This was reported on August 30 by the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 28, Armenian soldier Vladimir Airapetyan was found dead at his combat post with a gunshot wound.

Regular soldier Simon Mkrtchyan has been detained during the investigation into the criminal case instituted on the fact of the Vladimir Airapetyan's death. He is suspected of committing a crime stipulated by Part 3 of Article 265 of the Armenian Criminal Code (violation of rules of combat duty or military service, resulting in serious consequences). This was reported on August 30 by the "Armenpress" with reference to the press service of the Armenian MoD.

According to the updated information, Vladimir Airapetyan got a fatal penetrating gunshot wound to his head, the "Armenia Today" reports.
