Resident of Nalchik reports beating a child at school and demands to bring those guilty to justice
A resident of the settlement of Kenzhe from Nalchik has stated that her son was beaten up at school. The statement that she sent to investigating authorities and rights defenders says that the school directress was the child abuser, and asks to bring her to justice. The school bosses deny that the director had beaten up the pupil, stating that she was not at the school at all on the days when the alleged incidents occurred.
The boy's mother sent her applications to the Public Prosecutor of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), the head of the republic's MIA, the head of the Investigating Department for the KBR of the ICRF, the Ombudsman for Human and Child's Rights in the KBR and the Human Rights Centres of the KBR and "Memorial" on July 2. According to her story, her son was beaten up at school twice – on May 20 and 26.
The boy's mother said that he had applied to various bodies asking to investigate the situation and take appropriate actions. However, to date no criminal proceedings have been instituted. In connection with the incidents she had to appeal to the Prosecutor's Office, she explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"The first time the director slapped my boy for his forgetting the daybook; the second time – for incorrectly copying some data from the blackboard: my son is visually impaired; and on that day he was without glasses," she said.
