In Stavropol Territory, district police inspector is found guilty of negligence in case of taxi drivers' murders
In the Stavropol Territory, a district police inspector, who, according to investigators, failed to respond to a report on armed men, who later killed six taxi drivers, was found guilty of negligence. This was reported in the Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for the Stavropol Territory.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 8, in two villages of the Kirov and Predgorny Districts, four VAZ cars were found with bodies of six victims. Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were found near three of the four cars, and one IED detonated.
According to the Regional ICRF's Department, on the day prior to the murder, Alexander Vedmensky, a police inspector for the Kirov District, received a report of three suspicious men in camouflage and with automatic weapons and failed react to the report.
The former policeman was found guilty of negligence and sentenced to five months of hard labour, the website of the Stavropol Department of the ICRF reports.
