Advocate requests to question former police head in case of Dagestani resident's disappearance

Advocate representing the interests of family members of a resident of the Kizilyurt District of Dagestan who disappeared in 2012 has sent an appeal to the head of the Investigating Committee for Dagestan. The advocate requests to question staff members of the Kizilyurt ROVD (District Interior Division) in the case of the Akav Khalidov's disappearance.

The 28-year-old Akav Khalidov disappeared on February 29. He used to be a strictly practicing Muslim, and he was registered by the police station. The Akav Khalidov's parents have learned that on February 28, their son was twice stopped by policemen, who claimed they had information his car was used for committing a crime.

The Akav Khalidov's parents have repeatedly sent telegrams to various instances. In their appeals, they reported that, according to their information, the kidnapping of their son involved staff members of the Kizilyurt ROVD.

On April 14, advocate Sapiyat Magomedova, who represented the interests of the Akav Khalidov's family members, sent an appeal to Eduard Kaburneev, the head of the Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for Dagestan. In her appeal, the advocate requested to instruct investigators to question the staff members of the Kizilyurt ROVD headed by their former boss Askhabali Zairbekov in the case of the Akav Khalidov's disappearance.
