In Volgograd, protesters demand from officials to allocate funds to renovate kindergartens

In Volgograd, a protest action was held. In their resolution, protesters demanded from officials to renew funding for a network of kindergartens and to provide pre-schools with textbooks and toys. Officials from the city administration believe that the protesters "exaggerate" the situation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 11, Volgograd hosted a protest action against the lack of funding in kindergartens. The protest action was organized by the social movement "Volgograd Parents for Children's Rights".

On April 8, at the Volgograd administration, activists of the movement met representatives of the city authorities. However, the conversation "led to nothing." This was reported by Olga Cheburakova, one of the organizers of the protest action. According to her, officials do not want to take the responsibility.

According to Natalia Schepina, a participant of the protest action, parents have to raise funds themselves to renovate kindergartens.

Vladlen Kolesnikov, Deputy Mayor of Volgograd, has stated that "deputies treat everything that concerns children as a priority; however, Volgograd has deficit of budget."

"There are problems in kindergartens. We do not hide them; however, I would not want people to exaggerate the situation," Deputy Mayor of Volgograd has concluded.
