House of village head in Dagestan attacked by unidentified persons, local reports

In the Untsukul District of Dagestan, unidentified masked men beat up the wife and pregnant daughter of the head of the village of Kharachi, one of local residents said today. The women are in the district hospital in the condition of moderate gravity, the chief physician of the hospital has reported.

"The above masked men broke into the house of Khadizhalal Ziyavudinov, the head of the village of Kharachi at night on April 3, when he was not at home. The men beat up his wife and pregnant daughter with sticks. Local residents believe that it was an act of revenge by 'forest fighters', who think that the new head of the village cooperates with law enforcers," a resident of the Untsukul District told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on condition of anonymity.

The victims are in the Untsukul District Hospital, the chief physician Aishat Magomedova has confirmed: "The state of the mother is of moderate gravity; the daughter's one is satisfactory. There is no threat to the life of her future child."
