Court dealing with case of ex-Mayor of Karachaevsk Soltan Semyonov appoints financial and economic examination

As reported by the Karachaevsk City Court, an accounting financial-economic examination is underway in the case of Soltan Semyonov, ex-Mayor of Karachaevsk, accused of misuse of budget funds. According to the ex-Mayor's advocate, Semyonov's actions have no crime elements.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that investigators believe that for Semyonov's fault the funds allocated for road repairs (19.5 million roubles) and modernization of the education system (24 million roubles) in the city of Cherkessk were used not to the purposes. The defendant refuses to plead guilty.

As reported by Ruslan Adjiev, the spokesman of the Karachaevsk City Court, all the witnesses of the prosecution have been questioned during the past court sessions.

"The interrogation of defence witnesses has not started yet. At the last session, Soltan Semyonov's advocate requested an accounting financial-economic examination. The court granted the petition," Ruslan Adjiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

He added that the hearings will resume after the examination is over and the conclusion is ready.
