Resident of Ingushetia is in intensive care after questioning and suicide attempt, says his brother

Alikhan Kulbuzhev, a resident of the village of Dolakovo, Nazran District of Ingushetia, whose kidnapping on March 28 was reported by his wife, tried to commit suicide after being questioned by the police, and is now in the intensive care unit, his brother told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ingushetia, Kulbuzhev confessed, prior to attempting suicide, that he had killed his eight-year-old daughter. His brother asserts that Alikhan made the confession under torture and threats.

The "Caucasian Knot" wrote, referring to Kulbuzhev's wife, that in the morning on March 28, the house where the spouses live with their three children was stormed by about a dozen armed men in masks and camouflage. After searching the house they took away Alikhan Kulbuzhev (earlier his surname was given as Kubuzov, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") to some unknown place.

The reason for Alikhan's detention was the investigation into the death of his daughter on February 6, 2014, said Magomed Kulbuzhev. Relatives believe that the suicide attempt was caused by the torture and threats from power agents who detained Alikhan.

According to their relatives Alikhan's daughter died under mysterious circumstances – she went to sleep and did not wake up. "The parents did not call medics for examination; they buried the child in accordance with the customs, without making autopsy. This fact could cause suspicions against the child's parents," said Magomed Kulbuzhev.
