Religious activities are announced to be the main reason for the attack on madrasa teacher in Dagestan

According to the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Dagestan, the madrasa teacher Arslanali Shakhbulatov, who was shelled in the evening on November 25 by unidentified persons, had not received any threats. The MIA regards his religious activities as the main version of the attack.

Let us remind you that Shakhbulatov's car was shelled by some unidentified persons in the village of Karlanyurt, Khasavyurt District. The teacher was taken to hospital with a wound in his leg. It was reported that in his Friday sermons, read out in the mosque of Khasavyurt, he condemned Wahhabism.

According to Magomed-Rasul Omarov, the press secretary of the Dagestani SAM, all religious activists, critical of Wahhabism in Dagestan, are in danger, although nothing is known about any particular threats addressed to Shakhbulatov.

Let us note here that earlier this year a madrasa teacher was already attacked in Dagestan – in the evening on March 3 in the village of Gubden, Karabudakhkent District, Magomed Biyarslanov was shot dead in his own house. His funeral took place at a large gathering of people, while in the evening on May 8, the suspects of committing his murder were killed during a special operation held in Gubden.
