Magomedova complains to Dagestani leader about pressure in Kizlyar murder case
Advocate Sapiyat Magomedova has appealed to Ramazan Abdulatipov, the leader of Dagestan, asking him to pay attention to the pressure on witnesses in the case of the murder of five persons committed in Kizlyar. Sapiyat Magomedova states that the defence's witnesses, victims and their advocates have to ask for state protection.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 18, 2012, Magomed Gamzatov, the deputy of the City Assembly, and his brothers Osman, Yusup, and Gazidibir, and his nephew Magomed Omar were killed in a fight in Kizlyar, when arms were used. On March 19 and 21, 2012, relatives of the deceased men blocked the federal highway Rostov-Baku, demanding to dismiss Andrei Vinogradov, the head of the Kizlyar District, whose bodyguards, according to the relatives of the deceased men, participated in the armed incident.
During the court session held on November 22 advocate Sapiyat Magomedova, who represented the victims' interests claimed the witnesses being pressured by the law enforcement bodies.
In her complaint sent addressed to Ramazan Abdulatipov, the advocate has emphasized that a top-ranking law enforcement official threatened the witnesses in the case of the murder of the Gamzatov brothers and their nephew.
Sapiyat Magomedova states that she has filed her complaint to draw the attention of the Dagestani leader to the pressure on the witnesses.
