Rostov-on-Don: trial of Union "Women of the Don" postponed till December 4

Today, the court session on the recognition of the Union "Women of the Don" as a foreign agent was postponed – it was rescheduled for December 4 with the aim to summon the expert, whose opinion was put into the basis of the claim lodged by the City Prosecutor of Novocherkassk, Rostov Region.

Valentina Cherevatenko, the head of the Union, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that at the beginning of the today's session the defence asked the court to appoint a new comprehensive examination of all the documents of the Union "Women of the Don" in order to define, whether the Union is involved in any political activities.

However, according to Cherevatenko, the judge decided to summon the expert, whose opinion is already present in the case files.

"It turns out that the expert is on the side of the prosecution. We wonder why the judge has decided to invite the expert – without any petition of either of the parties and without any prosecutor's initiative. Therefore, we'll insist on satisfying our request to hold an independent examination by another expert," she said.
