In Astrakhan, about 100 persons came to commemorate Yuri Budanov

Today, in Astrakhan, the movement "Russians of Astrakhan" marked the day to pay tribute to the memory of Yuri Budanov. The action took place in Lenin Square, and in total, the action was attended by about 100 persons, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

On July 25, 2003, Colonel Yuri Budanov was sentenced for killing Elza Kungaeva, a Chechen girl, to 10 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony. On September 15, 2004, the Commission of Pardons for the Ulyanovsk Region granted the motion to grant clemency to Yuri Budanov. On June 10, 2011, he was killed in Moscow.

According to the organizers, the rally was sanctioned by the city administration. In the square, the participants of the action set forth the portraits of soldiers and law enforcers, killed in local conflicts and counterterrorist operations, and biography of deceased person was written under each photo.

The action was timed to the Colonel's birthday. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Ingvar Stefan, the leader of the movement "Russians of Astrakhan".

Let us remind you that on May 7, 2013, in the case of the Yuri Budanov's murder, the court sentenced Yusup Temerkhanov to 15 years of imprison and 1.5 of custodial restraint; however, the convict denied his guilt and has challenged the verdict.
